Since this is a new community, I thought I would start a discussion.

When did you first hear about iJustine and how has she influenced your online life?

I forgot to mention my first experience with Justine.

Back in June 2007 I was working at a software company when a coworker walked into my office and told me there was this video that I had to watch. I am always for a good clip to make me laugh. He explained it was some girl with a live webcam. First thought (knowing the guy) was that it was NSFW but he insisted it was.

I had never heard of JTV let alone iJustine prior and from the moment I logged in, I was hooked. The whole idea of a lifecast fascinated me. Sure part of the interest was in watching a cute blonde all day but since she was sitting in a coffee shop or in her apt editing vids all day, there was no real excitement. I figured this would be something that would go on for a week or two and she would lose interest. I didn't know this was going to be iJustine's springboard. I bought a domain name or three since I am a junkie for them and I threw together a quick blog about iJustine.

I loved to write but never had anything that excited me enough to write about. Justine changed all of that. Like a muse she did things that made me want to write about them. From her antics on the cam to her blog posts. iJustine spawned a whole series of events for me to grow creatively.

Sure, I have been influenced by Justine to signup for multiple social media sites, get an iPhone and even watch random shows like Arrested development but all in all, Justine got me to open my eyes to an entire subculture online that was was oblivious to.

Justine was just a girl on my monitor for the most part until I tracked her down one day in SF and got to meet her IRL. You never know how situations like that are going to turn out but she was so friendly and sincere that I was convinced Justine was someone I should keep an eye on. Thankfully, I already had the site and once she left JTV and started doing more and more projects, she has given me countless amounts of ideas to write about in her fan blog.

Justine, you're the best and I know all of your fans wish you all the success in the world. 5 years from now when you are a household name, I am going to tell people that I knew you would be a star.

Iirc, it was shortly after I joined Twitter. Before the 300-page phone bill, at any rate. One thing's for sure: Since I started following Justine on various sites, I spend a lot more time online. Not just checking up on her various sites, though. Sorry to burst her bubble. ;-)

I saw iJustine on youtube after I got my iPhone. I remembered seeing the '300 Page iPhone bill' or something and clicked on the user.

Then I fell in love. :)

Now I have two people that I desperately hope have new videos on youtube when I go there.

Justine was the second person to get me *in* to the internet. After a few weeks of chatting with her and other people, I decided to go beyond Facebook and Myspace. Now, I couldn't be happier!! Thanks Justine. Love you, bia.

long story. i mistakenly found her tastyblogsnack and didn't believe any of it was real. I had many crazy and cynical thoughts at the time. After i threw my iphone in the ocean, i could relate more to life in general. and then the purpose for ijustine sorta popped into my mind, like in a biblical sort of way. "the house of justine" idea, made me sorta feel like i had found a proper place to mesh, considering i'm a secular libertarian. the end.

I saw one of her photos during a random search on Flickr and clicked on her avatar because she's puuurty. Then a few days later I saw her dramatic chipmunk video somewhere and recognized her from Flickr a few days before. "That's strange" I thought, "How often do you run into the same random person twice on the internet? It must be fate, or we both like the same things. Hmm..." So I went back to her Flickr page to investigate and from there I found the tastyblogsnack and she had a cam on her head. :D From there I found justin.tv and watched her. She was funny and loved Steve Jobs and slept in boxes so I was hooked and became a regular. Heh
